Staff at Lambourne recently picked up the garden tools on a sunny hot Friday to help out at the local charity ‘Nova for Women and children’

In line with Lambourne Partners’ strong commitment to supporting the wider community, a team from Lambourne Partners recently volunteered at Nova for Women and Children.

Staff worked on several Nova properties outdoors to remove weeds, cut back bushes, trim back overgrown areas and generally tidy up the yards.

Nova are a not for profit organisation who support women who are at risk of homelessness so that they can remain safely in their home, and they also assist women who are homeless or in crisis to be housed and provide support to maintain safe accommodation.

The team had a great day with everyone pitching in and giving it their all. Reflections from the team include:

“In the scheme of things what we did was only small, but it all helps, and hopefully we have helped improve in whatever small way the difficult situations that these families are working through. It was also great to spend some time out of the office, and out of our comfort zones, with our work mates shooting the breeze, helping each other in ways we don’t normally have to, which made it a whole lot easier to power through what was a pretty tough, hot, and physical day.”

“It was a great sense of satisfaction in giving the women and children staying with Nova more up-kept homes and hopefully create a more positive environment, at what must be a difficult time when they are not safe in their own homes. It was good to get stuck in and do this with the team.”
